Gabriela is a recent nursing graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She visited the UTS Centre for Cardiovascular and Chronic Centre in Sydney, Australia as an ICOWHI intern. During that time she; conducted administrative tasks and provided support in organizing and planning ICOWHI’s 19th Congress, assisted in the development and monitoring of the ICOWHI social media outlets, conducted research and synthesised information on health issues that affect women globally, assisted in the research and analysis of policy issues affecting women’s health, and prepared grant applications, reports, briefing materials, correspondence, and mailings.
Since returning to the US Gabriela has completed her nursing degree and will be starting her career as a nurse in the Emergency Department of Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in West Philadelphia. We look forward to reconnecting with Gabriela at ICOWHI’s 19th Congress in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2012.
